Description
This is a scene from the movie "Sword of Doom" (Dai-bosatsu toge) with Tatsuya Nakadai who played the main character Ryunosuke Tsukue. It's jidaigeki movie which was released in 1965 and directed by Kihachi Okamoto.
The story is set between 1862 and 1864. Tatsuya Nakadai plays an amoral samurai who is the best swordsman from his former school. At the beginning of the movie you can see him killing a Buddhist pilgrim who he finds praying for death. Ryunosuke believes that his skills are unbeatable until he sees another swordsman called Shimada Toranosuke played by Toshiro Mifune (The king of sideburns).
The movie was filmed after a novel called "Dai-bosatsu toge" written by Kaizan Nakazato.
The story is a bit confusing due to the novel wasn't really finished, but the fight scenes are great. The Japanese rock at making great sword fight scenes.
Drawn with charcoal on paper and I also used a blending stick. I hope you like it.
